In this guide you will find information about creating and using Smart Play Lists for iTunes

iTunes - According to Wikipedia

iTunes is a proprietary digital media player application, introduced by Apple Inc. on January 9, 2001,[2] at the Macworld Expo in San Francisco.[3] The latest version, iTunes 8, was announced at Apple's September 2008 keynote Let's Rock. The application is used for playing and organizing digital music and video files. The program is also an interface to manage the contents on Apple's popular iPod digital media players as well as the iPhone.

iTunes (Smart) Playlists - According to Wikipedia

Playlists
In addition to static playlist support, version 3 of iTunes introduced support for smart playlists. Smart playlists are playlists that can be set to automatically filter the library based on a customized list of selection criteria, much like a database query. Multiple criteria can be entered to manage the smart playlist.

Since iTunes is available for Mac AND Microsoft Windows this guide can be of interest for ’both sides’ :-)
